I'm not sure how up you all are on recent events, but I think you'd've had to be living in a vacuum not to know about Strikethrough '07 and the like. I'm unlikely to move from LJ until forced to, because I love the community here. However, there is the possibility that I'm going to jump ship. If I do, these communities are going to shut down and be deleted. If that happens, I will be setting new ones up on InsaneJournal, probably under the same usernames, and you'll all be welcome to follow me there. They may not be exactly the same, and I won't be reposting the content submitted here.
So, my advice is: if you've posted something on this community and you want to keep it, back it up now. I'm not going to be able to back up all my communities, and will basically just save the rules and theme lists, so while I wish I could help you all, I can't. I do recommend ljarchive
if you're looking at backing up your own journals.
I've thought about finding people to hand over to, but it would be so much work. It'd be simple enough to give someone the communities, but they'd have to set up a new claims post, change links... and people might still try and get in contact with me through old mod posts I'd done, etc, etc. I'm really, really sorry, and it would hurt a lot to leave all the communities behind, especially considering how long I've been working on them.
However, leaving LJ is going to be a last resort for me. I love it here, as I've said. If they continue coming down this hard on fanworks, some of the posts in all my communities don't pass because of content, which would cause trouble in future. Even if you don't move to InsaneJournal, starting over would be your best bet -- in the case of me leaving LJ, I definitely give you permission to take the themes list from here and even the rules format and so on.
What sparked this? Two users (that I know of: there may be more who are less prominent) have been suspended for posting fanart of "minors in explicit sexual situations". They were suspended without warning, and therefore without a chance to defend themselves or remove the offending posts. More than that, I've looked at the art by ponderosa121
and neither of the characters look underage. Is this the start of another purge? We don't know. It's certainly something unfair, and it could be the start of a slippery slope.
This post isn't just a warning. I would love it if every single one of you took some kind of action.
"'Cause sure as I know anything, I know this: They will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground, swept clean. A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people -- better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."

If I disappear and you want to find me on InsaneJournal, I've already registered my three main usernames there. Until that point, I'll continue to mod these communities as I have always done.
